OK so I finally drove it today!! The torque is awesome but top speed isnt that impressive, being 60 or so flat ground. But that is also with the 10" wheel. It beats most cars around here off the line lmao
I learned it doesnt like to idle much. It just dies. Sometimes it will idle nicely, but mostly not. The exhaust studs kinda have me concerned as they keep backing off, I used permanent red loctite to hold em on for now lol

Have you tried adjusting the idle mixture and speed settings on the carb?
Are the studs backing out of the cylinder, or are the nuts backing off of the studs? The latter is the most common and I usually just use 2 nuts on each stud to cure it.

Hmmm... well me and a buddy drove our "mopeds"(as the cops refer to them) for 4 hours today, then right at the end of the ride we get pulled over. They say they clocked him (49cc) going 45mph.
They ran his VIN and gave him a hard time. Where the plate is riveted on the plastics it said "Class : Motorcycle" and this is what the cop starting going off about.
They looked at mine and asked "wheres the rest of it" hahaha . I told em thats all there is. So I tell em I bought the frame with a bad motor and swapped in a good running 49.989cc engine in. So they were pretty cool with it. Even tho it has a straight pipe exhaust right now LOL
In the end they say we have to run "MOPED" plates on the back and have our motorcycles serviced because they were going too fast. We got written warnings.

when swapping to a gy6 150,is it just the motor mounts u change or redo? does the wire harness match up with the 50cc gy6. or is there changes there too?

The only difference in wiring from this was that it has 1 extra wire coming out of the engine, which was a ground. It charges and works fine. Been riding it at night with headlight and tail lights working for hours and it starts back up every time.

The engine is now tore apart. The exhaust fell off down the road and I had to keep going and ended up burning an exhaust valve up. No big deal tho. But while removing the cylinder head and cylinder jug, I noticed the head gasket was bad. It was leaking into the crankcase and out the bottom of the head. The would explain the leak I felt that I kept thinking was the header , even tho it had a gasket and lots of rtv after frustration. The engine would blow a lot of pressure out of the valvecover even at idle. Engine never smoked though so I believe rings are still good and the cylinder still has crosshatching. So I guess I will just deglaze it and get a new head and shave it to bump up compression. Maybe .020"??

Yes it has so far. The Voltage regulator is working fine as well. I run an aftermarket round headlight and it is much brighter than my buddys 2011 VIP scoot and it keeps it charged up just fine.
