Also wanting to somehow mod my cvt cover to vent a little bit more since I cut that variator fan down.
I see where you 2t guys drill a lot of holes but I dont have drill bits big enough to do it right... I wish I just had a holesaw and could cut in front of where the variator sits.

Your clutch being open will do the most for cooling. It's a big heat source. If you wanna do more to the front you don't have to have a big drill bit. Drilling a hole or holes and using a carbide cutter and/or files can make some creative cuts.
You could lighten the clutch, but if you've already ordered clutch springs I'd just wait and see how they do. At least the clutch springs are an easily "reversible" mod.

Scoot takes off HARD now! But I fried the stator last night riding in the rain. I guess I am in the market for a new 8 pole

Thinking about lightening my stock flywheel while its off. Should help even more with takeoff im hoping.
.060-.070" sound about right? Is more possible??? Can weight off the face be machined as well...

Some do machine the face of the flywheel too. .060" is what was removed from mine.

Went to install a shorty axle today...just to realize it is a 50cc one. It is made differently but I still made it work for now. I had to modify one of the gears for everything to fit right and turn without any binding. I still need a stator so I have not been able to take it up the road to test but it does spin freely and quietly. Stock gear on 50cc axle Modified gear on 50cc axle This is what the inside looked like when I first pulled the cover off

Threw an old stator in for the he\\ of it and she fired. I still want/NEED a new stator.
Tested the gears and they are doing great. The are actually quieter than stock..cant even hear them. Did a wheelie test or two and she held up just fine haha

I know this is an old post but I'm about to buy another taotao to mess with and I want to buy a gy6150 to put in it, could you upload a picture of the mount you fabricated so I can get a reference on what I need to do? It'd be greatly appreciated.
