The front fender is slightly different. It won't clear the forks and the mounting holes are different. I'm not much on body work, so it'll stay off. I kinda like it that way anyhow. I'll get pics of the scoot when it's together again, or if it's together again.

The forks were very soft. I popped the caps off and topped them off with some 10w30 I had around and now they're very stiff. I've heard lots of folks complain of soft suspension, it might just be that easy for you. Fluid level adjustments can make a big difference in front forks. I fill all of mine up on every scoot, but I'm also heavy so that may be too much for the smaller folks. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been dying to know how to fix that problem easily. Now I can really drop the front end! I've long since made it adjustable, but could never put more than a 1 inch drop on the front because of the loose shocks. Now I'm going to drop it to the ground.

Sorry - but I have seriously wanted to know how to do that for like a year now.
That wheel actually looks pretty sick. Would be awesome if you could get a match for the back.
Glad to see you getting rid of the goofy suspension it came with - and nice brake set up too!

Heavier oil will stiffen it up even more if necessary.

The front swap is kinda done, I think. Still needs work. The new bearings will let it tighten up a little better and still be able to turn the wheel. It's still not completely free feeling though. Ridable, but kinda sketchy. I'm not so sure it isn't partially from the wheel being raked out farther and the taller tire and different profile? The stem seems to come through the tube straight, but it's a little different angle to set the tire out farther. The resistance makes it feel kinda scary at times. It's sorta like driving a car with manual steering if you're used to power steering. Not that it's really hard to turn, but I notice that I have to turn back to straight where as before it either did it on it's own or it's natural enough I've just never paid attention. Also, it feels like it starts to go into a turn OK, but then it feels like it drops down faster than I want. Thats gotta be tire profile, size, and rake differences from before. I think I could get used to that part. Last problem, I made the front too stiff now. It's unpleasant. I rode 30 miles and I was growling in my helmet when I hit bumps because it was pissing me off. There's no damper it seems. My shoulders arms and hands were tired from all the vibration and bumps and this is the same scoot that I gladly rode for 8hrs straight a couple of times just over a month ago. I might have just ruined a perfectly good scooter? The bright side. The front brake is usable now. The drum actually had plenty of stopping power. My problem with it had always been that it was so touchy. I tried sanding everything and different adjustments and nothing worked. Pulling the front brake lever without caution would abruptly try to stop the front tire, and that's not a cool feeling. I used the rear for pretty much everything but quick stops. Now I can gradually apply the front brake and it works how it should. So there's one plus, other than it looks cool to me. I broke a belt on the way home. I don't think I ever bothered to check the transmission over after the last belt I snapped and repaired on the side of the road. Oops. I did at least get some video of me screwing around with it. This is exactly why I say I don't do wheelies, my scooters do. I'm just trying to stay on the thing. lol I'm definitely no good at this stuff. THe on;y thing that keeps it from coming up worse is that I have the stock torque driver back in it to drop the revs at cruise. Once it shifts the RPM drops enough that I can stay in the gas and it's not coming back up.

Looks Cool!I always set the fork oil about 2" above the top of the dampner rods with the forks bottomed and springs removed to check the level,a small tape measure does well. Then reinstall the springs..

Thanks. Mine are all as full as they can get since I'm heavy. These are just rock hard set that way.

Yeah. It's stupid now. lol If I don't lean forward and/or let out of it, it would have no trouble going over backwards other than when it randomly slips.

I rode the Venus again last night. It was a really nice night for a change, not super humid and hot. I really think the sketchiness in the front end is the tire profile. I think the narrow tire with steep angles just causes it do dive harder than I'm used to and lose a lot of straight line stability. The fact that I've been using a tiny rear tire probably doesn't help any. Not sure if I wanna give up the effects of the small rear tire though. :wheelie: I was at a red light leaving a town with two lanes that merge to one not long after the light. Most people will just stay in the left lane (that doesn't end) as I was, but you always get someone that pulls to the right lane to take off and beat all of the traffic. I'm often that guy. lol So a car tried to do that to the fat guy on the poor little 50. Little did he know the unassuming little Venus was going to leave the red light with a wheel up and smoke him. Those are the moments that make all the time and effort tuning truly worth it to me. One the way home, I decided to take a back road. They really aren't good at marking construction around here. I was doing about 47-48MPH when I saw some dust ahead. A car had just passed by the other way, but I had seen some farmers out in their fields even late that night, so I thought that's probably what it was from. Nope. It was from a section of road that was torn up and now just a gravel mound with large chunks of asphalt. It got interesting when I hit that, and I really thought I was going down for a moment. Pretty close. Good rush though, kinda fun since I didn't crash. Would be nice if they could at least put up some sort of sign or maybe leave a barrel or cone on the side of the road or something when the tear up the road around a corner and on a hill where it's hard to see.
