It's always great to come out of those pucker moments with your skin and bone tissue intact.

;D sounded fun as heck . were is that camera when ya need it The GoPro really doesn't work at night. I considered taking it, but I left it at home rather than looking through a bunch of unusable footage. I'd need way brighter headlights or way brighter street lights for it to work well. I went to take it out today, but discovered my exhaust was loose. One bolt was missing and the weld had broken on the adapter I made. Went to take the top bolt out to remove the adapter and it snapped off in the engine. Drilled it and inserted an easy out. That snapped off. I have finally managed to drill all the way through one section, but it's off center pretty far and I'm afraid I might end up ruining it. I hope I don't end up needing a new case half.

That sucks Brent! I have been there before with the exhaust bolts. I screwed one up off center like that and I too was scared the case was going to crack. The two others I broke I center punched the broken bolt and use a 1/8 bit to drill a pilot hole all the way through and then stepped up to a larger bit so it didn't wander. I think they should have a clean hole through the case and a nut on the back side standard so a broken bolt is no biggie. The bolts get hot and cold so many times that I think it makes them brittle over time because they probably aren't the proper type of metal to begin with. Go China!

That's basically my best case scenario at this point, to use a nut on the other side after it's all drilled out. I'm just hoping it doesn't end up so far to one side that there's no real meat left on the case.

Need a couple of those thick washers that are knurled on one side for grip so you can utilize as much of the case meat as possible.

Been a while since I've posted anything about the Venus. It's still just collecting dust waiting on Project 90 to complete so it can have it's carb and exhaust back. lol I did get one bit of cool news sort of regarding it just now. Shark motorcycle stereos likes my videos showing their system on the Venus. They wanted to know if I would add this link, www.sharkmotorcycleaudio.com/ , to the videos. No problem. I mentioned I haven't used it for a while because of a cracked speaker, so they're sending me a free replacement. ;D

Thanks. I miss it. It's been sitting in a corner since P90 started pretty much.

I got the Venus running again, and I'm ready to let it collect some more dust already. Wanted to ride it tonight. I started out by breaking the CVT cover. I have a broken toe on my kicking foot, so I can assure you there was no excessive force. Swapped on the one from T2's 103cc. Then I got it running and made it probably close to 10 miles and annihilated a belt. I dunno if I'm too old or what, but I'm kinda tired of both T1 and the Venus. They are quicker and faster than T2, but damn it's nice to just ride. Plus I can't afford to tear up parts all of the time. I think I've ruined the Venus. I really like the front wheel and brake for looks and it brakes smooth... but it handles like crap and I've got the forks too stiff right now. The tiny rear tire makes for a nasty launch... but it ruins top end and isn't good for the ride quality. Between the tire and front every time I hit much of a bump it feels pretty unsafe. The trans setup for wheelies kills belts. I took something that originally was quick and reliable and reasonably comfy for a small scoot and made it into something a little quicker and easier to wheelie with smooth braking, that sucks to ride and breaks down. Hardly seems worth it.

Does seem that you have had your share of bad luck at the moment. You never know once the 49cc project is finished you might never go back to the big bore monsters :0
