Been lurking for a while and figured i should post my build here. I have an 08 zuma with just enough goodies to make it fun and bearable. i ride it to work when it's not snowing. been collecting parts for a while. rally kit, taillight with turn signals on the sides, a extra trany cover so i didn't have to cut my original. bought a 103 zuma motor off eBay that a guy put to gather and never got tuned. it is a 54x45 iron kit with an up gear in it, a 28mm flat slide oko carb and intake and a mossoli overange variator. $300 shipped made me happy. had the engine since mid summer but have been to busy to do much with it. think i will go with a bws100 tq driver Carlos sells and bws100 belt and not sure about the carb, delorto phbg21 is what I'm looking at. looks like there is scuffing on piston by exh port, I'm going to pressure test to make sure there are no leaks and do a compression test before i open it up to port map it. by the looks of the piston its been soft seized. checked the gear ratio by counting rotations 9.25:1

Sounds like a great deal. If you make the power, those gears should be capable of high speeds.
21mm will do the job on a 103cc street/sport style setup. 28mm should be fine, but it's just more of a pain to adapt I'd imagine.
Other than what you've mentioned, it sounds like the biggest missing part is a good pipe.

plan on one of those peace pipes everyone raves about. I really like his ugly ass test pipe. didn't you try out an updated version of that test pipe? really wish i could find a source for bare bws100 cases i could really build a tq monster. i think ive read all your build threads, awesome work and forum i love it here. ive spent months just studying here there is so much good info to absorb

I have tried multiple Peace Pipes. His latest UTP did pretty well. The regular style pipes hit really hard.

Does a BWS100 TD fit a Mina 50-90 engine?Kinda thought the idameter was too large..If it did that would make a nice over range setup!

its biger than a 50 and smaller than a mossali overange. somewhere i have the diameters wrote down. carlose has aftermarket bws100 TD for about $120, half the cost of a mossoli TD. a bws100 belt should make it work great. still saving up for that part but ill let everyone know how it goes once i get it

Bw'S 100 TD are bigger than the oem one but smaller than the Malossi over range (122mm compared to 128,5mm for the over range). I don't know if the belt of the Bw'S 100 will fit well. I have only the over range variator and a Motoforce TD with adjustable grooves( same size as OEM:116mm). I was looking for this TD also. Can't wait to see if it worked for you!

thanks for the replies. anyone know the specs on a bws100 crank. i know the cylinder studs are spaced diferent but i cant find specks on the crank other than the stroke. i would like to find a set of bare bws100 or arox 100 cases to build a big motor

Here ya go,splines and flywheel taper is the same as the 90cc stuff, splines 6mm longer, bearing diameter larger,14mm piston pin, 90mm rod; I have a 52mm BWS100 shaft here if you need any other info.. =John=

John you're the man. looks like you were thinking like me but spent the money to get the answer. probably not enough meat in 50cc cases to hog out to make fit. now if there was just a supply available for bws100 crankcases we would be all set. thanks for the info

Yeah,It gets real thin and requires a bunch of additional work; As a dude whose 'been there, done that' its not worth the huge effort!! =John=

wow did you ever get that project assembled and what were you trying to build. if you were using bws100 cylinder you had to relocate cyl studs also or did you have a diferent top end planed. really cool stuff you build. wish i had tools like that i could really get into trouble.

i say again wow. what part of cases gave way? cylinder mounting? how big was that monster?love your peace pipes. i would have bought a bws100 if they were available here. i love torque 2 strokes thats why ive got a 103 going togather. thats wrong i couldnt find a 90 and triped over a zuma motor at 54x45. just lucky i guess plus this is a direct bolt in

Waay too thin cases combined with MX125 power!I feel the 54X45 is the best setup for a Mina 50cc base engine, excellent torque,65mph speeds easy, cheap parts..Anything above that is asking more than a "utility" engine can give. The BWS100 is worse..I can go on for hours about the design weakness of these engines, but to keep it short,ENJOY your 54X45 project!! :thumb:
