So the studs and half but case half came in handy? Glad you are getting use out of it I just got lucky that the other one I got matched up so nice with the long side. The broken mount one was the match to the long side originally

Yeah, the odd half seems to match up nicely with my original left half. I havent tried to check the linear-eveness of the crank bore yet. Will check that tomorrow, by installing the crank, without any type of sealer. Currently the case and crank from you are on the bike, surely I can get one of these mothers to run. The one that doesnt, will be wrapped in an old quilt and stored till I get that 41.4 Ruima, and maybe another cylinder, so I can still ride while I adjust port timings on the stroker. Cant wait till Monday, I found a pinleak at the reed block, between thr spacer and block. Shit. These. SOB's like to spring leaks dont they?

Brent can't seem to put one togather with out a leak at the reeds that's why everyone says to build a pressure tester if you are going to work on these saved a bunch of headaches

Didnt have a psi guage for a leakdown tester, but I've built my version of one any way. Since the vari side seal is rated at seven pounds, the fouf pounds of air I fill the cases with should be okay. The pump has a phase.switch, less than 4psi, it comes on till it hits about 4.5-5psi. So, I fill it up, then spray soapy water around the seals, and the case seam. If I see bubbles, I release the pressure, then fix that leak. If I dont see bubbles, I let the air stay in the case for fifteen minutes. During that time, if the pump comes on I look closer, if not I proceed with assembly. I am getting ready to check the crank alignment so, will post back in a few.

I did a test fit for the crank clearance. Everything fit and the crank rotated freely and smoothly. Tomorrow I can get some permatex, and actualy put the engine together. Hell, two engines, one damn well better.work and run right.

Well, been a rough road to travel, but I think I am nearing the end of my journey. Today, I fired Frankie up, and rode a mile. Then checked the plug, cuz I could feel something was no right. Too rich? How the hell? Lets start at the begining. This time, when I put the engine together, I used all stock parts, clutch springs, contra, wieghts, everything but the pipe was stock, even the 80 main. The leak last time drove me frickin nuts, but I kinda like the rich side of things better than the lean! I dont have a smaller jet size, but U have been able to smooth things out with needle position, and a/f mixture. Going to go check the plug from my last ride. Finaly hit the pipe, but was damn near maxed out when I did. I think I will change the rollers to lighter ones. It is hard for the bike to get to the powerband, like it is straining, but I think its cuz its too rich. IDK

Running too rich definitely makes it harder for the pipe to hit.

I figured pasting links, would save some bandwidth for the site. Thst whatever it is, was not in the tank the day I installed the fuel shutoff. Today I noticed it felt like after a few minutes it was starving for fuel. So, I pulled the line, and gas would barely drip out. When I saw that inside the tank, I had a shit fit!
