Well as most of ya'll know I'm swapping out my 60cc motor for a Scooters To Go 87cc Stroker. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/7861/139qmb-stroker-motors-49ccscoot-discountHad to wait a while to get the cash, thankfully I get a vacation check every six months at work and it couldn't have come just in time. See my stock motor has been loosing power on hill BAD, dropping the speed down to 35 and less on the stock speedo so I know it's about -5+ on it. So I have my motor now just not the rest of the parts I need, including the jets but you guys know all about that one ( Damn Post Office). Anywho, I just put a fresh coat of paint to the motor, Going black with my chopped CVT cover staying the same as it is. So I figured I'd post pics of the swap and any other nifty shit I decide to do. Here's some of the new LEDs I installed last week

Love the LEDs which ones did you use? My wife keeps bugging me about adding a few but I know very little about them.

The engine should look good for awhile with the paint on it. You need to put some red LED's in the trunk where the reflectors are.

Haven't been able to install yet. I have all the parts to do it, but they didn't send the flywheel puller. They sent a clutch puling tool but I called them and there sending me one but it will be Friday or Saturday. Then I need to find a damn shop to press the gear for me but the tools the main thing holding me back. Once I get it installed I'll post more about it, speed ,gearing, clutch setup, ect.

Ok were to begin, I've swapped motors left and right and never had as much problems as I had with this one. Now don't get me wrong, it was the motor it's awesome and built great. To start off I had to find a way to go get the rear gear pressed and only had 20 bucks on me at the time and they charged me $25, luckily I know the guy who owns the shop and let me take the gear and pay him later. Then I had to borrow a flywheel puller from a loacl scooter shop and while trying to pull it it stripped the threads out so the owner of the shop told me to bring the motor up there and he would get it off , he use what looked like a dent puller with an L shaped piece of steel to grab the back of the wheel. Well he ended up bending the inner rim of the wheel but gave me a used one and chipped the stator, didn't look bad or broke but later found out it is. After all that I get back and go to knock out the shaft that holds the clutch and the damn bearing comes out with it, Now I'm broke by now and no way to get the bearing pulled off so I knock out the bearing in the new case and was able with a piece of wood and a hammer tap the shaft and bearing in. Then while tightening down the intake manifold I break a bolt over tightening it, so I pull one out of the old motor and replace it and then while getting the other one I break that damn one. After all that shit I finally get the motor on that went smooth till I got to the header pipe, now if you look in the top pic you can't see it but the bottom bracket isn't bolted in because it about a couple cm off and about an inch from the block but after bolting it don it's on there good and doesn't have any play to it. Had to use the stock variator because DLH variators are shit and the one I had the towers the shims sit on wore out and dug a deep groove into one and were the boss sits is now oval shaped, I thought I might be loosing compressing on my old motor cause I was loosing power on hills but now I think it was the variator causing my power loss. So then I installed 7gram sliders and 1500 RPM clutch springs and 1500 RPM contra(no name brand) with a HOCA spring base and a brand new Gates Powerlink Belt. Started up and ran great so the first part of the break in was going to be on my way to work till I hit 20km and the belt shreds and the CVT cover was almost to hot to touch, at first I thought it might be from were I used the bearing from the old motor till I calmed down and got to thinking about my scoot I crashed, I was testing a spring for ZTE Performance and I kept breaking belts. Then Enviromoto (Jeremy Hall) told me to ditch the spring and it never happened again, so that night I tore down my clutch and took out the 1500 contra and the HOKA spring base and replaced it with the stock one but left the 1500 clutch springs in, also cleaned the pulley and greased it and made it to work and back home the next day so I think the spring was crap. Thinking about putting the spring base back in to add a little of tension to the stock spring. Scoots down though now till Wed. because one my way home I had no headlights, I think beating off the flywheel messed up the stator enough to knock out the lights but still charge the battery. So to be on the safe side I'm replacing the stator, flywheel and the rectifier. Now once I get the lights running I'll post more about the motor and how it's running, so far with the setup I have now when you take off it runs to 8000RPMs and the shift point goes to 6000 while still pulling and gaining speed then stays around 6000 to 6500 even WOT. I do want to get the RPMs up a little more for a little more speed, it pulls hills great but I know I can get more out of it. I did pull the 7 grams out and put 5 grams in instead. Take off is a snap and I left in the 95 main I had and there's no bog but to adjust the idle I had to use the throttle cable adjuster because the screws turned down all the way, STG did send me a 40 pilot jet and I'm going to install it to see if I can turn the screw out and use it instead cause right now it doesn't even touch the screw but idles fine.

Sorry to hear about all the issues you are running into with the swap, and I can see the frustration building. We have all had those repairs/replacements that cause us more headache than they are worth, but once every thing comes together we are pleased with the overall results. I've been working to build a Frankenstein 72cc 4t motor, that pushes 220psi compression. This build in particular has been torn down 4 times and with 2 bent valves and a cracked cylinder. As for the header pipe though, if that is one of the generic ebay ones or just a generic one in general, I have used a solid pair of vice grips to bend and twist the bottom bracket until it is close enough to lining up that I can get a bolt in. We have had customers provide their own exhausts before and the increase in labor time for the install is almost not worth the savings on the part. Seeing the issues you are running into gives me a chance to modify how the engine install process and engine sale are handled, that potentially being the option to rent tools and have prepressed gears available for sale. Your posts are helpful to us to minimize the headache for customers and streamline the entire process. As always, we are around if you need anything or have any questions. I hope the engine meets or exceeds your expectations and the tuning goes forward trouble free.
