Thanks Dave! They apparently have a pretty huge selection. Have you ever bought from them? Are they reputable? Where are they located?

Thanks guys. I'm planning on trying it this way without moving the shock. From what I can tell from the mockup, I've got sufficient shock travel without binding, but We'll see once I get it done. I'll try it this way first and if needed, do some modding on my shock frame connection and get a shorter shock. I've been out of town for the past couple days, but I'm back now for a 4 day weekend so I'll be working on this to get it back up and running. I'll need to order a new rear brake cable, and I need to modify my seat bucket plastics due to the change in engine placement. Notice in the pic that the seat is slightly up from where it should be.
The stretch is right at 8" for a total length eye to eye at 11 5/8". The original length eye to eye was approximately 3 5/8".
The front is stock and not lowered. I thought about lowering it, but one of the reasons why I did this was to drop the rear down so that I could level the scoot.

Got the modified swingarm/bracket back. Here it is freshly sandblasted. Before powder coating, I mocked it up on the scooter to make sure everything fit correctly.. which it does! I need to cut a little plastic off the seat bucket and under the gas tank to accommodate where the engine is now, but not too bad.. Still need to do a few things such as powdercoating and installing the new bushings, but almost there!! And.. almost forgot.. modifying the kickstand!

That's the bushings that go into the engine. Are the same bushings used for the engine bushings and the swingarm/hanger bushings?

Check the fuel petcock. It's vacuum operated and does (or will) fail and can cause gas to go straight through the vacuum tube and straight into the intake. Not saying that's what is causing your issue, but it could be. Just replace it with a manual petcock from Advance Auto parts or other auto parts place.
And on the other side of things... Also check your vacuum tubing and make sure you're not overly lean. Check for cracks in the tubing, and/or disconnected tubing.
and.. Check your spark plug. Make sure you're getting good spark. Also make sure your spark plug isn't cross-threaded. I ruined a head by putting the spark plug in wrong.

My friend from work had a chance to start modifying the hanger. Here's where he is so far. He's putting an X brace in the center, then cleaning up the welds, then we're powder-coating it gloss black. It looks a little rough, but wanted to show some progress. Notice how he tapered the ends down to where the engine will mount, and also how he did the wraparound on the front tube.

Just curious, but does anyone have a good source for the bushings that go in the motor mount/swingarm? Looks like they are 30mm in diameter. I can't seem to find them.

You may want to check for a location for your upper shock mount. Gas tank may be in the way. Body work maybe in a way. Already mocked it up. Nothing in the way... I could have went 9 inches and still have been okay but did 8 just to be a little safer.

Well... I finally decided to just remove my existing motor mount/swingarm and have given it to one of my work buddies to stretch for me. I'm having him stretch it 8" for a total of around 11.5" eye to eye using some 1.25" square stock metal tubing. He will also weld a center support on the stretched swingarm to provide added rigidity. We actually tried to source some 30mm ID steel tubing just to make some from scratch but couldn't find any at a decent price. Looks like I'll be out of scooter riding for a week or two while he modifies the mount.. I'll of course post some pics as soon as I receive it.

Did you make sure to set the engine at TDC before removing the old head and piston?
Is it turning over?

I've been trying to find a ruckus to mod! If you don't want it, I'll take it!!!! Seriously!

I REALLY hope this new piston from STG does the trick. I've bought probably 6 Big Valve Heads and butchered them trying different things to get them to work. If the piston clears and the compression is in the 190+ range, it'll make a big increase no doubt. I can feel the current setup losing power as the rpms increase and I'm fairly certain a lot of that is that it can't move the exhaust out and the new charge in fast enough to keep up. The big valve head makes so much difference in fact that last time I had the big valve head on the compression was around 70psi and it STILL almost made as much power as my best day without it simply because it was moving the charge in and out so much better....but at a much lower pressure Humanshield, keep us updated on this. I may end up going the same route. My scooter fly's with the 50mm BBK, big bore head, and A9 cam, but if the piston does help increase compression, I could only imagine what that would be like!

You could try removing the needle and squirting some carb cleaner in the hole to help clean and dislodge the crud. There will be a spring, o-ring, and tiny washer that will be part of the needle assembly kind of like the setup on the left of this pic: So when putting the needle back in, it should be the needle with the spring slid over it, then the small washer, then the o-ring will be put on the needle last. Make sure when putting the needle back in you lightly seat it when it bottoms out screwed all the way in, then back it off around 1.5 turns out and start tuning from there.

You have a restriction somewhere. Are you running a stock air filter? Have you checked it lately? If your air filter is fine, then more than likely your idle circuit is clogged in the carb. You can literally get a new one for around $30 or less if staying stock. GY6 50cc carb
