Honestly, the best thing to do is either clean the carb or buy a new one. You probably have it backed out so much the spring is no longer holding tension. These carbs are really easy to clean and real cheap to buy if you don't want to fool with it.

I've got the same kit in my scooter but can't remember if I actually used the shim washer or not since I installed it last year.. It seems to run pretty good. I ended up with 8 gram sliders, but am about to upgrade the clutch to a performance clutch. I think mine is pretty much worn out.

Mine was from the TV show Heroes. I started using it on forums years ago after I heard the villains name from the show, but then later realized that I was spelling it wrong. I decided to just go ahead and keep the spelling I had instead of changing it to the actual spelling... So that's pretty much the name I've used on most all forums I'm on. Info on Sylar

I have a 50mm BBK with big valve head, performance CDI, yada, yada, yada (look at my sig).
I've had mine up to 52mph gps verified on a flat straightway which are hard to come buy around here. I was still climbing, but needed a diaper at that point as I was freaking out thinking I was going to wreck. 10 inch wheels are not made to go that fast.

They'll still steal them. I live in a good neighborhood so ironically that's of course where thieves go to find good stuff. There a pretty big drug problem where we live so I wouldn't put it past them. Our mountain bikes were stolen the first week we were here and scooters are way faster than bicycles.
I got the alarm disc locks for each scooter and an 80 grade 10 foot 3/8 chain to chain them together onto one of the posts in our carport.
I may setup a shotgun pointing at them with a trip wire eventually.. lol (not really)
All in all, I think that gives me a little piece of mind now knowing it's a bit hard for anyone to even touch them, let alone steal them.

I dont have a tool to measure can anyone tell from the picture if this is the "machining"? or does it look like a 20mm? Purchased from 02starrider That being said a fuel line was damaged and had to be replaced.I also ordered a BBK which was missing the A9 racing cam and the piston had a ding in it so I returned the whole kit.Now I have this carb and from the pictures on here it looks to be fake.Wont purchase from that ebay seller again.Shoulda returned this as well I'm not a fanboy or anything, but I've ordered quite a few parts from 02starrider and have not had any issues at all. That's actually where I bought my BBK and A9 Cam that I'm running right now. Maybe things have gone downhill a bit..

I just bought 2 disc alarm locks. Should get them tomorrow. Getting a chain too so I can chain them to each other. May put an alarm lock on that also just as an added bit of security. I'll have to check my carport to see what I can chain them to..

I'm planning on chaining them with a big heavy chain. I was just thinking about getting a couple of the alarm locks that go in the front discs also..

Well, We've just moved into our new house and I've currently got mine and my wife's scooters in storage. At the new house, I do not have a building or garage to keep our scooters in so I'm a little hesitant to bring them here. The weather has been extremely nice lately and there's been a few days we could have rode them, but we've held off since we really don't have anywhere to put them. I do have a nice large driveway with a covered 2 car side-by-side carport. I don't want to have to keep going to the storage place where I have them just to go for a ride then putting them back.
Any suggestions on how I can secure my scooter? I'd like to find some kind of alarm that would go off if it was moved. I'm also thinking about getting a huge chain to run through both wheels and connect each scooter together.
There is a steering wheel lock on each scooter, and my wife's Vino has a feature which locks the rear wheel also, but it would be pretty easy for a couple guys to grab one scooter and lift it into the back of a truck..

I used the Krylon for plastic on my scooter. It worked extremely well and honestly, Krylon has the absolute best spray tip nozzles. 2nd season and going strong. For black, ironically, I used the rustoleum spray truck bed liner and that worked even better than I expected. I wanted a textured finish on the blacks and I couldn't have asked for better...

I'm just guessing but probably because the scooter market is a small one there. I live in Kentucky, and we have tons of motorcycles, but you rarely see a scooter go by if at all. We have motorcycle shops, but they are unwilling to do anything engine wise on a scooter.
Maybe put a craigslist add out for help. You may find some others that are in your area that could help.

Where are you located? Maybe someone here is close enough that they can help with a rebuild. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you could get by easily with a rebuild kit or cheap BBK kit. You can find the BBK kits which will have everything upper end you need to replace for around $50 to $60. If you're burning oil then it's mostly either the piston rings or valve seals which will be completely replaced with a BBK (big bore kit). You can also get a rebuild kit with the cylinder, head, piston, rings, valves, etc.. and the installation will be pretty much the same.. No matter what you do, it's going to take some tools. I've got a lot of 'tools by necessity' as I call them. More or less I always end up buying tools only because I need them, and not because I want them. To put a BBK in, you're going to need a 3/8 metric socket set, feeler gauges, and a small metric wrench set. It also helps if you have a 3/8 ft/lb Torque wrench, but there are many that install these without them. If you have a Harbor Freight, you can get these tools for pretty cheap... These are obviously not the best, but they will work and be what you need.. Socket SetWrenchesFeeler GaugeTorque WrenchAnything you do, including changing the engine out, will require time, patience, tuning, and tools.

So, everything came in through UPS today.. YAY! New toy! When I ordered the camera, I hit Amazon and ordered a Baxia accessories kit for it also. It comes with a case and a bagillion accessories including the chest mount and head mount, suction cup mount, selfie stick, floats, etc. So much stuff that there is no way this little case will fit everything so for right now, I've got what I think I'll primarily use in the case, and the rest in a box. I'm gonna have to opt to get a Pelican case or something in the future. It's pretty fun to play with. I can't wait for a decent day to get some scooter vids!
