I am not sure gas is getting to the plug. See photos. See other photos. When I suck on the white vacuum line gas come flowing out the other (black gas line) originally I thought the black one was the vacuum line but sucking on that nothing happens. Just a bad taste.

Ok, I got more plastics off and started doing some voltage testing. (never done this on scooter before.) I find it interesting how many electrical plus are empty on this bike. 2 under the seat, 1 black behind the right side cover and at least 1 behind the front plastics. So, I have power going into both the grey thingy and the black thingy, but not sure electricity is coming out of them. How do I tell? I have power only in this spot in this plug. When I plug this clip back into the grey box, i can't find any power elsewhere. This is a picture of another empty electrical plu 2 under the seat. is this normal or something missing? No clue what this thing is, but the red cord going to it has power. The last picture, because of it's location, I would say is your starter relay. Wonder where the cover went lol. The plug in the first picture with the multiple pins might be for your voltage regulator? derbiman, these older Derbi's are you specialty so what do ya think ? I have no idea what the other plugs are for, but they could be for options that yours didn't come with?

Do you have spark? And spark when the plug is touching metal?

I do have spark. I also noticed that I probably need a new spark plug wire because while testing it with the plug in the wire on the side of the engine I saw sparks coming from the wire right before it gets bigger and grabs the plug. I then moved the plug and wire to a different spot and i have lots of spark.

That's a good thing. Does it spark if you hold the plug to metal? If so, put some gas in a straw and put it right into the cylinder, tighten the plug and see if she'll start. Hopefully it'll start.
By chance have you done a compression test?

I do not have a compression test but knowing the supposed history behind this thing i wish I did.

With the plug in, use your hand on the kick starter to sorta gauge your compression. It's not perfect but will give you an idea.
You can usually get compression testers at auto parts stores with a deposit, then get your money back when you return the tool. fyi

There is defintly some compression, I just don't know how much. I took a short video of starting the bike. I had just put some gas in the cylinder head. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFjT28CuCYk

So, have you tried a new plug? If a new plug doesn't do it, then your next step before tearing it down, is getting a compression tester so you know what you're working with. I'd say you want at minimum a 100 psi.

derbiman should know of more places to get one. Heck, maybe he has an old one just lying around with your name on it?

I think this $50 would work. From scrappydog II'll pick up a new spark plug tomorrow and give it a try. I'm pumped to go from not having power to where I am now all in 1 day!

Sorry guys. I have been on the road on vacation to Daytona Beach. The pictures of the wiring posted above show some unused plugs, probably because Derbi uses the same wiring harness on several model including the water cooled models which would explain why they are unplugged. The large plug with the tester on it goes to the voltage regulator which also contains the flasher relay. If you turn on the one or the other turn signal,2 of the end terminals should make the tester flash. The terminal with the yellow/green stripe is a ground. The red wire goes to the battery, which is why the tester lights up. The other terminals will only show ac voltage with the engine running. I really don't have any top end pieces lying around. AF1 has a lot of the Derbi parts but you have to type in the original part #s into the search engine to find them. They are not an authorized dealer so they can't advertize them as Derbi parts but they have a lot of the parts. I have ordered from them several times and some parts come from overseas. Shipping says 4 to 6 weeks but I have always gotten them early. Hope this helps you.

After you test for compression,if it is low, you may have to take the top end apart to check the cylinder, rings and head gasket. Af1 sells most of the gaskets. I bought a piston and rings from a seller in South Carolina. I found the info in an old Derbi thread from years ago but the seller still carried the piston. It worked great in my Hunter and is still running strong. The cylinder is probably ok since the Derbis use nicasil cylinders. It should be pretty cheap to get your Atlantis back on the road.

This is the same cast iron kit that I have on my Manhattan. I have not used gps to confirm how fast it is but it is over 50 mph without the upgear kit.( You can make the Spanish engine pretty fast with a little work)
