If you shop around a little, you can find these kits cheaper. I found mine on Ebay UK for $130 shipped to the U.S. The kit even comes with a carbon fiber reed.

When vacuum is applied to the white hose,it opens the valve at the bottom of the fuel tank supplying the carb with fuel. If the engine is not getting fuel, you will need to do a thorough carb cleaning by tearing it apart. More than likely, the jets are clogged. Make sure they are clear by using a sewing needle or something of that sort. I always spray carb cleaner through them using that straw that comes with the cleaner. Also spray all of the other passages inside of the carb making sure they are clear before reassembling.

Time for a tear down. Way low. Compression should be 100psi or more.

I was out of state last week. Got home on the red eye yesterday and just now took the top end off. Looks like water or some other substance (brownish) is in there. Derbiman: do you recomend the Derbi Atlantis 50cc standard top end kit for $50 or the 70cc big bore? www.scrappydogscooters.com/Japanese_euro_scooters.htmlThe current piston has some scratchets etched into the sides of it. THe top has a little carbon built up on it but not a ton. In order to best get the piston clips out I took the whole engine and back wheel off of the scooter to access it. Ill post some pictures tonight with more details but thinking that I'll try to order late tonight from scrappydogs or early in the morning. Ethan

Ethan Check with Scrappydog to make sure those cylinders are for the Spanish engine. It does not say for sure in the post. If you go with the 70 cc kit, you will have to upjet the carb also.

What else did you order? What jet did you up to? Did you change the oil pump settings? What air filter? I'm pumped to do this!

That level Malossi iron kit is what my mechanic recommends for basic Street bikes. Good bang for the buck. I've got one on my TGB. Can't give much feedback as I promptly destroyed the 4k+ mile crank bearings after kitting.
