I did get one, not the one I linked to this is made by PUIG. Cosmetically it fills the area above the headlight which looked like it needed something. For function, there is a noticeable difference in wind. It doesn’t block it much but moves it up and makes a sort of turbulence that softens it. It’ll fit a gps behind it to block it from the elements or hold my gloves when I stop to fill up.

I think I’m slacking... I just pasted 700 miles on this in a little over 7 weeks not including what I’ve put on the Zuma. That’s just joy rides I can’t drive a bike to work although I’d like to. Last fill up was down to 50mpg I must be getting comfortable with it. Actually the higher revs make for smoother shifts.

You going to try different springs? Or just experiment with the oil? A better quality spring would make the most of the great handling.

Öhlins and TST both supply different rate springs and have a top cap with adjustable preload kits so I’ll be looking into those. I’m sure I could experiment with the caps by making my own preload adjuster and oil type and level but sometimes it’s nice just to get something that works.

My jacket does a really good job at concealing them... The thermals help also. I’ll be out on 2 wheels down to about 15-20f. My hands are my only problem. I can’t really do heated gloves because I hit the horn in place of the signals, thanks Yamaha for the placement. I’m thinking heated grips or just hand guards to deflect wind over them.

Heated grips are great. Done some long rides down to -3°c or -4°c. Fine up to 80 or 90mph. Only thing getting really cold was my thumbs. Hand guards can be surprisingly good.

You’ve been everywhere! The pictures further up are from that area. The video is my local area in Bucks County errr... I mean Mexico. I go up towards Easton frequently also. This is a nice area to live and ride just need to watch for the wildlife.

Hand guards worked great for me around DC, mostly interstate, all winter several decades ago even when snow occured. It was weird sticking gloved, or mittened, hands into something and not seeing the controls, but it worked great.

I've used hand guards (sit in front of your hands) and handlebar muffs (your hands go in them). Hand guards were pretty ineffective for me. Maybe something with more coverage than the typical stuff could help. Handlebar muffs aren't bad. If you pair those with heated grips they're amazing. You can wear thin gloves and be toasty warm. I actually think that was better than heated gloves regarding warmth. My issue is that they make me feel like I'm gonna crash because I move around too much I guess and I have a tough time getting my hands in and out. Realistically, I think if your goal is to ride in sub-freezing with some level of comfort, a heat source is required.
