You’ve been everywhere! The pictures further up are from that area. The video is my local area in Bucks County errr... I mean Mexico. I go up towards Easton frequently also. This is a nice area to live and ride just need to watch for the wildlife. Haha! I am now 63. Born in Baltimore. Lived in Wisconsin, then outside Minneapolis until 13. East of San Francisco from 13 until graduation. Utah State, back to CA. Worked for Chevron near SF for 23 years, but traveled the globe from early 90's. Still do!
We raced bikes and cars across the US. Or, worked on race bikes and race cars. If you connect the dots from racing and designing and making lubes and fuels...it's like 38 countries and growing. Everything from amateur to NHRA to APBA to FIA to AMA and even an F1 work day. One. I am a mechanical engineer with process engineering roots and a father with three engineering degrees. Plus, my hobby is sensor technologies.
I do have a very uncanny long term memory. Numbers, maps, not names. Personally, have done a lot and quite frankly suck at most, but I do not forget my mistakes. Next? Tiny outboard motors and canal boats. Why? WWM...World Wide Market. I cannot slow down.

I like the lack of a visible fuel tank. I dig it.

Those front stands are handy to have. Not something you use a lot. But great for changing tyres, and servicing forks. I'm really surprised that most new bikes noe don't come with holes for swing arm bobbins.I Still keeping it looking nice Ryan. 👍

The Zuma is easy enough to support from the ceiling hooks because it’s light but I wouldn’t think of doing that with this. Now I’ve got 3 of these stands taking up valuable space in my garage, one for the Zuma and these 2. Now it’s time for springs and then I’ll be good until the next item.

I picked up a few more things... some shorty levers, a cyclops 10.0 led head lamp and my springs are due here tomorrow. The led is incredible it turns night into day. In the picture below the 2 running lamps beside the headlight were the same color as the headlight, now they look amber...They are getting replaced also. After I pick up some fork oil I’ll tackle the springs. Last on the list is rearsets then I’ll call it done, maybe... Actually I’d like to reflash the ECU to get rid of the fuel cut on decel that causes massive engine braking and lower the fan on/off temperature lower.

Suspension is done and it feels like a complete different bike. I went with racetech .95kg springs, preload adjusters and 15wt oil. There is virtually no nose diving on braking or coming off the throttle, well not like it was. From my research these are originally setup for 130-140 riders not my American size. I’ll have to wait for the salt to get washed away before I try my twisties but I have a feeling they will be more enjoyable. I took the time to setup the static sag and preload where racetech recommendation was. It was a few different spacers to be cut but it’ll be worth it. The rear has some adjustments so it may be fine as is. I think the Zuma is calling for some fresh oil and some new learned suspension tech.

So I did get a chance to get on the back roads to try out the suspension and it’s a night and day difference. The on/off throttle isn’t as much of a change in the suspension as it was, the turn in on the corners feels much more secure then before and I feel I can lay into the corners and not have to worry about upsetting the suspension. Really this was a much needed upgrade and will be well worth the little bit of time to swap springs.

Started to panic when trip F as it’s called came on. It’s a reserve trip counter and counts the miles you’ve gone on reserve. Got to the nearest station which wasn’t too close maybe 15 miles. It took 2.8gallons but my tank is 3.7 gallons. Reserve apparently comes on with a gallon remaining. Good to know. Still averaging 45-55 depending on my riding...technique.

Well with the mild winter we’ve had here in eastern PA ride time never diminished, so I’ve had time for rides a few times a week (heated grips are great). That being said I haven’t pulled the wheels to get powder coated. I think in the next week or so I’ll have to take a break from the saddle and get them pulled for coating so it’s not down when spring comes. I did just order a ECU tuner so after I try that out it’s go time.

What ECU tuner did you get? How do you plan to go about fiddling with the settings? I've never tinkered with map settings, and already got a PowerTronics for my bike that has zero miles. I'm finding out that maybe I should've got a Power Commander V because they also build the dynos that many shops have. Sorta makes sense. The tuner I got is fully customizable, fuel and ignition. If it were one-dimensional (fuel only) my butt dyno might stand a chance, but the ignition adds a whole 'nuther variable.

It’s a flash tune data link tuner. It has preloaded maps with lots of combinations with different parts, you can also custom tune your own maps, ignition etc. My main reason is to get rid of the extreme engine braking from fuel cut on decel and lower the fan cut on temp. You can also adjust the speedo for sprocket changes - speedo signal comes from output shaft so you know how fast your wheelies are . There are some other things you can do with it also. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/flash-tune-data-link-ecu-flashing-kit-yamaha-fz-07-mt-07-xsr700
