A four stroke... Why would I go and buy one of those, I guess because it’s modern, fuel efficient, has a nice big fuel tank and will take me places the Zuma can’t. Don’t get me wrong I love my Zuma it just has its limitations. The main issue is range. While I’m on my Zuma I drive like a complete ass with no concern for speed limits, I feel I can drive within reason on this guy. It’s a 2019 Yamaha MT-07, 700cc twin, fuel injected. Picked it up today, unloaded it and took a 65 mile loop and only used 1/4 tank. It’s a capable bike that’s in between a sport bike and standard. It’s got an upright seating position so your not on your wrists. The seat is wide, considering, and leaves room to move around on. It’s pretty reasonable with the rpm’s it’s happy between 3500-5000 and a lot more to go. 3500 in top gear and twist the throttle and it still pulls nicely. I’ll give it some time to break in before I cause trouble.

Great looking bike and the MT/FZ would certainly be one of my top picks to check out if I were getting a bike. While I’m on my Zuma I drive like a complete ass with no concern for speed limits, I feel I can drive within reason on this guy. That idea lasted a few rides on the TMAX for me. It's not nearly as fast as the MT-07, but very capable of breaking speed limits and it's hard not to now. Then again, I'm a jerk in a car too. It's not like you're the kind of irrational person that would do a burnout in front of my house at 1AM in the rain or anything so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Come on man that was a bad ass burnout, are you jealous!
Yes I can see myself being an idiot on this but I’ve been controlled so far, only 85 miles in but that’s a stretch for me. It really is an enjoyable ride/bike. Don’t worry the Zuma will still get its love it is here to stay. From a scoot that vibrates to all hell and getting on this machine that is balanced in all aspects it’s such a difference.

I bet the Zuma and the MT would be quite photogenic when parked side by side. Hint hint.

I’ll get there I was too excited to get some riding in.
Actually I was thinking of coating the wheels the same as the Zuma, bronze chrome but then my original choice of a dark candyish red came to mind. Over the winter...

Darn nice looking ride!Keep it stock, tune the suspension, the exhaust is likely better designed than any of the loud/expensive slip ons they have for sale/suckers out there..

It’s a 4 stroke so you can’t expect a 30% gain from a pipe. I think the Yoshimura and others only add 3hp/3tq to the 75 it has. It could use some extra sound but I’ll likely leave it as-is because being stealthy is also nice. I think I’ll just cleanup the tail / rear fender and grab some led signals, and a case saver. I’d rather spend the money on proper gear. Coming off of a scooter the suspension feels quite nice. It has some adjustments that I’ll have to mess with but handles well. The headlight at night is amazing it’s just as good as a modern car/truck. The only thing that bothers me is the quiet signals, they are easily forgotten 🙄

Awesome bike Ryan! I have a TRX 850, but not a wet fart compared to the MT-07. Though, I will admit, I like the MT-07DT a bit more: I have always maintained, that going sideways is 'da shit! (Unless it is unplanned) Fun in cars, fun on bikes...not so fun in a boat.

Nice bike Ryan! Congrats on the new bike! A buddy I ride with has an fz07 and he beats the piss out of it every time we ride and that bike just keeps on going!

Good to know birdman From what I’ve read they hold up pretty well. Just put some fuel in it, from 1/2 it took 1.7gallons and came out to 64.7mpg. That’s pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Busy working the sides... of the tires.

Nice looking bike. I have never ridden one, just the MT09. But they are everywhere over here. Great handling apparently, and a very reasonable price. Can't go wrong. 👍

I've got to admit some bronze chrome wheels would match the pipes...
