EFI tuning... crazy how much I could screw up if I wasn’t paying attention. If it were on a dyno I could monitor real time A/F, not that I could sit a laptop on me while riding. There is a lot more I can do then I originally thought - Fuel/timing per rpm and/or gear, TPS or MAP, there is a lot of fuel and ignition maps I could pick from or design my own, I can setup a quick shifter through the ecu, change rev limit and probably more. Slight learning curve for now, tools I know, computers not so much...

Sounds like our ECU units have basically the same knobs. Haven't actually verified this, but I see where the RPM index values are set, thus increasing redline. Figure I'll find the best two [preset] maps I like (got a 1 - 2 handlebar switch), then leave 'em alone until I feel like screwing something up.

I just loaded the unrestricted stock map adjusted the fan and decel cut for now and it’s more responsive then it was. It’s just adjusted fuel and timing for a stock configuration. I didn’t realize I can download say a powercommander map and load that. It’s a neat device

What did I do... I got cheap and purchased a Amazon Yoshi copy pipe. Looking at pictures of the Yoshi and this they appear identical except the copy has a shorter silencer and pipes are brighter. Even the hardware packet and anodized bushings are the same color. This is just a quick lap but it feels more responsive, I’ll load the R77 map later this is the modified stock map. It has minimal popping on decel so it’s probably not too far off although many say tuning isn’t required but I’d rather waste some fuel and get it close. BTW the baffle is in so I can’t imagine pulling it out. Crank your headphones to atleast 75%. youtu.be/hFOZrce9WHc

Brent directed me to some caps to cover up the frame openings. $9 well spent. I like these better them the sliders they make for this location.

I’m facing facts and realized the wheels won’t get coated this year, I actually like the full black the way it is so it may just stay. I did pick up some michelin pr5 tires. They get pretty good reviews and I have a plug in the rear tire and don’t want to be riding 2up with that in there. Also the Amazon pipe exhaust packing is all over my rear wheel, I was wondering why it was getting louder so seller is sending a replacement. And about this social distancing... no cars got in the way for my twisties, I can get used to this. Another reason to wear a full face helmet below...

What color were you going to go with? I agree the black on black looks good already.

Similar to my Zuma, bronze chrome. I’ll probably just throw some wheel stickers on and call it good.

Well I spent over 3 hours riding 2up and realized all the tweaks I spent on my suspension to make it work great for me don’t apply to an extra passenger. Guess I’ll have to figure this out if I make a habit out of it. Riding slow and smooth isn’t as easy as riding quick and fast... It’s sure nice to have a passenger though...

Smoothly does it. It's a different skill set to ride with a pillion. The PR5's are a great tyre. Good at everything. And with such a light bike you should see some impressive mileage.

Sorry about your shocks.

I’ve still got plenty of preload adjustments front and rear so I’ll take a guess and stiffen both up for next time. The rear is actually pretty good the front just needs help. I could just go to 20wt oil and readjust for single rider then up the preload with a passenger. Trial and error again...
Yes the tires do feel more secure then the stock rubber, it’s a dual compound tire with softer sides. I’m about 300 miles in and they are getting better each time out.
There’s no way I could ride the way I normally do with a passenger, they’d either fly off the back or we’d keep head butting helmets. I’d rather be responsible when someone else’s life is in my hands, that’s a lot of trust.

I dunno man, I have long given up on pillion/passenger for both bikes and [sports] cars. I kept my new bike stock long enough only to brake it in, and wifey has a total of ~2 hours in the pillion. And already said it gave her a sore butt. So, rear pegs off, loud exhaust it is Not like I didn't plan it like that hehe. You need a BIG bike to comfortably ride a pillion, and at that point, you've lost the flickability of a small bike which was the reason for buying such a sporty thing to begin with? You need to add another bike to your collection to satisfy the pillion niche.

Cheers for MT-07. Test rode it 2 times, just to get the feel for the engine, while having the tenere 700 on order, owning it from '19 now. MT-fabulous bike, light, responsive. Dont like the tracer option much.
