So this happened.. Here’s my 2008 Metro or what once was. The start of a fun little MetRuck. While scrolling through marketplace I came across this POS for a reasonable price and wasn’t too far away so figured why not, plus had some spares I don’t need. After all I’ve got a few spare motors that would fit nicely on the Honda frame. Its like a mullet, business up from and party out back.. Not sure if it’s considered gender reassignment or just reconstructive surgery but you know that little 50 4 poker is going bye-bye. I’ll probably mount in the current engine from the Zuma, Athena LC Evo. I’d really like to get this together by June and take to the rally but just in a functional form. I’ll save all the shiner parts for another time. Ken helped me source the rear frame but I still need to locate a few more bits but this is where it stands. I’ll be running disc up front and drum back so I can use a set of 12” GT5 wheels I have here. I have a few sets of controls and other bits but I need to figure out the engine mount first. I saw one with a swap that just used a bushing not the actual mount, I’ll add a picture. Opinions and cheap parts are welcome.

You’re gonna drop a liquid cooled 2t in it? Awesome! hppowdercoating might have a GET/Mina mount, or he can make one up (no idea about cost). Gonna take some “fitting” to get the oil tank and radiator it there, no? Totally want to see this happen.

Nice find. Will be a cool swap, and should be fun to ride.

Gonna take some “fitting” to get the oil tank and radiator it there, no? Totally want to see this happen. I’ve got some welders and grinders I’ll fab a mount up. If any additional tank goes on here it may be custom fuel tank under the seat for extra capacity and plan on mounting the radiator in front of the seat area. Just eyeing how things would look. Axle to axle on my Zuma is about 51”, this is 55”. I need to get rubber, a seat and fork legs before I start to really mock anything up. These are the wheels I plan on using also.

Just eyeing how things would look. Axle to axle on my Zuma is about 51”, this is 55”. Hmmm. I can't help but think the one with the longer wheelbase would be the best for the RC-One... maybe even make it a couple inches longer. Plus it's lighter. It'll be cool either way. I just can't help but think how quick the RC could be if you can keep the front down and stay in the throttle, which is unlikely with the Zuma. Plus, if you wanted to lower it like many of the Hondas and punch a smaller hole in the air, that doesn't hurt either. I guess once you get the mounts and such setup, no big deal to swap in either one though.

Once I get it setup swapping engines won’t be a big deal the only difference would be one of the engines I have is setup for drum rear and all the others can be either. I’m not sure if that’s where the wheelbase will end up I just wanted to see how it would look and thought that looked about right. I do agree the longer length should help keep the front down and the seating position also.
The wheels on the frame are the only ones I had with tires already mounted and those are OEM bugeye Zuma wheels.

Slight dilemma.. the black wheels I was going to use won’t really work on the Zuma case as the drum on the wheel is much smaller then the Zuma. So either I continue with the 12” wheels and use the RM motor which I need to grab an MVT for, or I get an Aerox front wheel and use the Evo since I have a Aerox drum rear I can use. Now if I use the 13” Aerox wheels I don’t think they will fit under the front fender and can’t check until my forks show up.
I’ve got most of the stuff I need on the way and just waiting for slow delivery times. I’m going to weld the seat frame to the rear frame but I need my seat first so I can check height and position. I should be getting some progress done next week. In the meantime just been cleaning unneeded tabs off of the frames.

I'm sure when I was looking at swapping front wheels on the typhoon. A 12" 120/80/12 has virtually the same circumference as the 120/70/13. There are wheel tyre calculators you can use online.
