Well I got it to start It took awhile very hard to start idled weaker than normal. Exhaust Tone was lazy and weak compared to normal Lower power at take off and mid throttle ,Road 1 1/2 miles at 1/2 throttle . Didnt take any chances Rolled through 2 stop signs .
I normally wear pants when I ride This one time I wore shorts As I was coming down a hill on my left leg I felt like i was being shocked or burned As i let off the throttle just a little bit I felt less bites ,back on the throttle more bites Got home walked back to get my car Tried to restart the scoot Its a no go . New Spark plug is greyish color that is a change I had been running on the richer side by Plug color before this
The little bites I was feeling was some bits of fuel exhaust mixture hitting my leg . I have a nice sized burn .
Head gasket leak just a small one .
Looks like I will have to clean up the surfaces and get a new O Ring .

Ouch! That’s one way to diagnose a problem.

Ouch! That’s one way to diagnose a problem. Yeah not my preffered way to find a head gasket leak

Swapped on a Malossi Sport 70 cc Cylinder that I had on the shelf . I will clean up the MHR Cylinder later and order a new piston and rings . I did not put any deep grooves in it just smears of aluminum from the one picture you can see where part of the piston melted away and fused the bottom ring in place. Just some EZ OFF and a scotch bright pad should bring cylinder right back.

What i found after testing my 3 pipes with the Malossi MHR Replica It loves the Yasuni R I was pushing to just under 11k Rpms with power . Wide power band I could set the variator to shift in high 8s to mid 9s .
Stage 6 Street Pipe It is a faster pipe than the Malossi Wild Lion by a couple Hundred Rpm and 1-2 mph Pushed to mid 9's with power Deeper Growl Had to Fab bracket
Malossi Wild Lion Bolts right up with Fender Pushed Low 9's with power
I also have ran the NCY Street pipe it is a little better than stock and has no cat For Street pipes I would buy the Stage 6 Street Pipe first if I could get one They are hard to come by and had someone to fab a bracket
The Malossi Wild Lion is a good pipe and easy to come by
The NCY pipe is not a upgrade for the same amount of money both of the above pipes are better .
You can run stock transmission settings all the way up to the stiffer clutch spring and lighter weights that the Yasuni R needs to perform best .
That Yasuni MHR replica combo pushed over 60 mph The Street pipes push mid 50's

The Yasuni R is such a versatile pipe. Can run anything from a stock cylinder up. The other pipes come down to more of a choice between price, and availability. No real loser in the street pipe sector though if you by a European brand.

Did you did the tests with stock carb? I bet a 17.5mm + some reed cage work would be a great addition!

I tested them all with a 17.5 mm carb with a kit and with stock carb no kit last year . The kit and carb magnify the pipes strengths
It was a just a quick butt dyno test with the same cvt settings for all the street pipes. I did drop the weights a gram and went up stiffer on the clutch springs for the yasuni .

Hey Zino, what was your squish for this build, with the Malossi Sport?
Do you use the Malossi head also?
Just wondering what you did to get squish down

The malosssi sport kits I have put on have on over multiple scoots is + or - 1.5 mm Being a sport kit they make squish wide enough so it is very friendly for tuning and assembly . The extra power comes through displacement of 70 cc and better port timing they do not have you push for higher compression and chance of detonation with higher squish. Even the Malossi MHR Replica is just a slap together kit without dialing in tighter squish with different gaskets
The aluminum sport kits like Stage 6 and Athena give you base gaskets to dial in squish tighter .
I always use the Malossi Head the o-ring gaskets are just better than copper spray only or metal head gaskets . I tried using this head with an Athena build the Polini head paired with a Athena cylinder worked much better for bringing down squish and setting port Timing with all the bases gaskets .

Thanks, yeah there is that small lip on that Malossi head which isn't going to help close up the gap Do you think the o-ring would still squish down, and not impede the gap from sealing if 0.3mm's or so was shaved off the head? Or would you no longer be able to use that o-ring?

With some sand paper and a piece of glass you could go old school and do figure * and shave down the head yourself To do it best you could have it machined to take some off the top and groove the o-ring in .3 mm more
You also could run a thinner base gasket or just copper spray for a bases gasket This would change the port timing though

Hey Zino, I have almost the same setup as you on RH 50 but when I am cruising around 30 to 35mpg and I try to go full throttle my scoot is really flat and barely accelerates and can get past 6200 rpm. When I go from stopped to to full throttle it will pull nicely to 50mph and 8300rpm. any ideas on what this would be?
below is my current setup:
2020 Roughhouse Malossi Multivar Variator 8 Gram Sliders Stock Clutch NCY medium clutch springs Ncy Soft Contra NCY Torque Driver Athena Aluminum Sport BBK 70cc Wild Lion Exhaust Stock Belt (Bando 738) Stock CDI 11:2 Gears Dellorto 17.5 -> 92 main, 42 pilot, A13 needle clip in middle

You have a nice setup with the athena sport it should actually want to rev a little higher .
I peak out at about 9k rpms with my malossi set up Your sliders are way heavier than mine . 6 to 6.5 grams is what I run with the soft contra
Since you have a tach test your cvt this way from a standing start
roll on the throttle slow note where the scoot wants to roll forward mines around 5k rpm with the medium clutch springs this gives me jump off the line take off with power
the second one you test Hit the throttle wide open ,note what rpm it jump to ,mine jumps to 8300 to 8500 this is where it feels best for me for on off throttle response at all speeds it also gives the same top speed as the heavier weights
I have run the wild lion and athena combo and a malossi sport and wild lion combo on a zuma The Athena overrevs it by a couple of hundred rpms at peak rpm , variator weight and springs were identical for both set ups

You may not believe this but I found last night that it was the stock cdi that was causing the problem, I put in a performance cdi and now it rips hard at any throttle position! Thanks for the CVT testing procedure I used it today and found that 8g sliders give me max rpm of 8700 and 52 mph, 7.5g sliders give me max rpm of 9400 and 48 mph. Id rather use the 7.5g because I can hold my speed on hills where the 8g I lose 6 to 10 mph going up hill. Do you think if I change the variator from the Molassi Multivar to the NCY Gold I would be able to get better top speed than 48mph? also do you think a different belt would help? Thanks again for posting all the information on this thread, as you can see I copied your build
