Just spent the morning tearing down the roughhose . To mount the new cylinder. I have both a Malossi Sport and a Malossi MHR Replica . The Malossi Sport is Cast Iron I have run these for thousands of miles . Works well with street pipes up to The Yasuni R It runs Best low to Mid 9000 rpms You can run the Stock Carb The Replica is Dual Ring Aluminum with Auxillary exhaust ports instead of the butterfly of the racier cylinders or single exhaust ports like the other sport kits o it revs just a little Higher. I have run the Athena Sport Single ring and had good results . It woud run about 500 rpms higher than the Malossi sport . Aluminum Kits need Better Carbs That have adjustable needles Part Throttle is deadly . I am going to run a stealthy Build out of the box the Replica with The Malossi Wild Lion ,17.5 Dellorto ,Gears . One advantage Is the MHR is Chamfered ,The Malossi Sport I polish the exhaust port raise it 1mm-2mm and Chamfer the sharp edges off the ports . Here is a side by side video www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEZ6PH1v7vQ&ab_channel=ScooterStreetI have never run this cylinder before . So I will be need to retune the Trans . Rejet the carb .

The replica is a great midway cylinder. The duel rings give it a much easier time, and better longevity than most aluminium cylinder kits. Most people fit something like a Yasuni R to match it. So will be very interesting to see how it performs with a street pipe.

Instead of removing the engine fro the back of the scooter. Just used some ratchet Straps to stabilize the handle bars and back end while I was wrenching. It was great to work out doors That extra foot makes a big difference . This guy swaps his buddy with it elevated on a pick up truck. Its a pretty good video to walk you through the dissasembly and reassembly . www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSEsEPakK5o&ab_channel=NickEganFiner points I do to have a better install. I use sealant on the base gasket and exhaust gasket. Let that cure for a day before firing it up. After the first warm Up I like to take the shrouds back off and retorque the head bolts .

The Scooter Street Guys had paired a Maloosi wild Lion in tere comments in the video and said it was a lot of fun I used PedParts 70cc pipe Shoot out to get a idea what this kit would do with Street pipes . It has boost ports just like the Mid Race Moto Force Listed There. I have a Yasuni R on my shelf as a back up pipe if I want just a little more . www.pedparts.co.uk/blog/sports-exhaust-testing-50cc-and-70cc-sports-mopeds-part-two

We all get caught in the trap of this cylinder needs this pipe, this carb...... Yes for optimum performance, but there are many ways to make a fun build it we just think outside the box a bit. I mean look at Brent, everyone tells him, you need a bigger carb. But the performance he gets, and with a much better throttle response just works so well.

Reading some of Brents threads Peace Pipe paired with liquid cooled TPR sounded like a fun build. here is one in particular that makes your point. Brents Biggest motor and under piped Best Tranny ,Brandons is under carbed and lowest end tranny ,Ryan has the best balance big carb, pipe ,cylinder ,budget overrange and they all had plenty of Power. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/25866/endless-summer-scootin-strokes-video

Hi Zino i have a roughhouse that i have done a lot of work on. An Athena crank, yazuni r 07, 21mm dellorto carb, malossi 70cc sport bbk, malossi variator and clutch, ncy intake. I've been reading this thread and you mentioned malossi secondary gears changed the ratio to 11:2 i have a polini 41/14 that fits but i don't know how to calculate what the ratio would be? Could you explain to me how to calculate it?

Could you explain to me how to calculate it? To work out the gearing ratio: Primary large gear ÷ small gear, secondary large gear ÷ small gear. Then multiply both results for the overall ratio of number of Primary shaft rotations to every single wheel rotation.

czechjo roughouse primary gears are 52/13 secondary is 44/13 =13.53 ratio primary gear ratio is 52 /13 =4 your secondary is 41/14=2.928 4 x 2.928 =11.92 gear ratio that should work really well I would bet It adds 5-7 mph . With your set up. You might need lighter variator weights to get the same shift points .

Did some tuning break in Runs I am in the Ride it like you Stole it though process for breaking it in. It is just so much more fun . I warm up real good ,And then I run down the road at different Rpm levels and harder wide open blasts . Each time I ride I push it a little harder after a couple tanks of gas . I am full Go.
Initial Impression Mhr Replica with the Wild Lion . Power Every Where . Revs to 10000 rpms . Top speed 48.7 mph Accelerate up hills
Cvt Settings I kept the same as I had adjusted for just the Wild Lion paired with stock bore. I will keep medium Clutch springs Front End Gets light on take off . The NCY Soft Torque spring with the Naraku ball bearing base is tight enough to keep the belt slipping otherwise I would run the Medium Torque Springs by itself . The Variator weights are 6.5 Sliders Currently I am shifting at 9k rpms and peaking at just over 10k rpms . The power band on both of these starts at about 8k rpms so I have room to run heavier weights. I will try all the way up to 8 grams this next week.
Carb 17.5 Dellorto snorkle out stock airbox on Stock Bore with Wild Lion I settled in on 90 main 33 pilot 2 1/2 turns out . The MHR Replica runs Higher Compression and Rpms which means higher heat . I ran down the road the 90 is ok . Sounded like mad hornets ,colored the plug ,temps leveled off I up jetted to the 92 speed is the same speed as 90 and just as spunky When I back off throttle at 1/8 wide open the speed slowly drops . So this jet is rich enough . Needle feels very responsive .( still have to tune this in) I did have to richen up the air screw. I am now at 1 1/2 turns out. I am running temps mid 200's at half -3/4 throttle and below 300 at 3/4 to full throttle.

When I rebuild a cylinder. I use copper sealant on the Base Gasket and Permatex Ultra Copper on exhaust gasket . I let them Cure for about a day Before I run down the Road . After the first run. I like to take the shrouds off and retorque the heads to spec . I also look to see if I have any color besides orange copper sealant by the base gasket and exhaust gasket . Any black spooge would be a trouble spot. Only sometimes do the heads need to be retorqued . But is a easy check and peace of mind. 2 bolts today need to be re-snugged . Here is one of my runs today

That's impressive RPM for that sort of pipe. It must really like the replica. Best of both worlds? 🤔

On my other builds with the Malossi Sport /Wild Lion Combo I peak around 9000-9300 Rpms . With the weights set to shift in 8000-8500 range
This power band starts just as low but revs higher the extra exhaust ports probably add 500-800 rpms .
Its a good stealthy Combo.

Decided it is time to replace stock on road /off road ttires . Messages to PartsForscooters asked for there best in stock tires for a Daily rider . That I drive to work on Dry occasionally wet roads. My Scooter will run high 50's low 60's . Matt the owner of Partsfor scooters also know as fugaziiv on this forum Got back to me the next morning "For pure street use at higher speeds, I would recommend Heideanu K80 tires. They are made in Germany and are high end scooter tire. Here are links for the 2 sizes you are looking for. www.partsforscooters.com/154-245-Heidenau-120-70-12-K80-Sport-Scooter-Tirewww.partsforscooters.com/154-246-Heidenau-130-70-12-K80-Sport-Scooter-TireIt was just easier for him to tell me what is the best tire for my set up . They are speed rated for way beyond what I plan to run and have very good reviews the run K80 motorcycle tires on Super Motard Bikes . So My wife bought them for me for Fathers day and they are on the way . Plan on swapping them on this next week letting them settle in and Then swap on gears . I also have a received my sliders 7 ,7.5, 8 grams . So I can reset the trans for the new tires and gears combos.

new tires installed heidenau k80 Even leaving them in the sun it took quite a bit to get them on Set the beads with a ratchet strap. Put 20 miles on them just to start scrubbing them in Big improvement over the on/off road duro tires
