OK. I was thinking maybe it could short to ground if it was touching the case, like maybe it was grounding on the case or something.. IDK LOL Just a desperate thought because I dont want to condemn the stator as bad just because its expensive.

I was eyeing one of those once before. They look cool.

The air gap is ok. Didnt measure the voltage yet... Could putting the stator on with no gasket behind it cause issues? Evsn though im not using oil pump?

So both crank seals look good. The case halves are sealed and not leaking. I put all new gaskets on the top end and intake no luck. I change the gas just because and no luck. I went back to the stock CDI from the blue China one, no luck. The fuel hose was not clogged and the pet cock flows plenty. Im out of options here.. It has to be that pickup on the stator!! IDK what else it could be.

Could it be bad gas? Does gas go bad faster when its premixed? It was sitting for a month or so.

Ok, so the piston is installed correctly so I can rule that out now.

Update! So I got my manifold in and got it together and got it running.. The good news stops there. Thats all it does is idle and it takes throttle well, wether its a little throttle or wide open.. It revs up nice but once the clutch engages it just bogs.. Its weird when theres a load on it, it just bogs down. I tried a bunch of jets in the 90s ranges all the same results. I tried different reeds same thing. Different carburetor, same thing.. Then I tried different Ignition coil and spark plug, same thing. I took the bell off and it was dirty inside, I cleaned it out, but that didnt help either... I'm tired for today but am thinking maybe the stator is no good??? Maybe I put the piston in backwards carelessly when I was assembling the engine.. Ill pull the cylinder head later after I have a beer LOL to confirm the piston is oriented correctly... What is everyone's thoughts on this one?? I'm stumped.
